Across Borders

During a months residency in Sanbao, Jingdezhen, I chose to focus on carving and throwing, in a sculptural sense. Lifting inspiration from the forms commonly produced in the sculpture factories of Jingdezhen, and the typical blue and white imagery of cloud formations. These thrown forms were produced in response to that imagery and then glazed with traditional reduction glazes, fired in the closely controlled gas kiln.
